FCC extends its commitment to Habitat for Humanity Regina: three new homes to be built by 2013

Regina, Saskatchewan, July 20, 2010 - Farm Credit Canada (FCC) reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to Habit for Humanity Regina by renewing its support for the organization. Over the next three years, FCC will donate $150,000 and 1,400 volunteer hours to build three houses for Habitat for Humanity Regina.

“Having FCC remain on board as a Habitat for Humanity Regina legacy sponsor is extremely encouraging,” says Dennis Coutts, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Regina. “By providing quality, fully affordable homes to those who may not otherwise have this opportunity, FCC and its employees make a difference in the lives of local families and in our community.”

This extended commitment is in addition to the $150,000 and 1,400 volunteer hours FCC has provided to Habitat for Humanity Regina since 2008. To date, three families in Regina have received new homes as a result of this commitment. A key turning ceremony at 1631 Retallack Street was held to celebrate completion of the final house and to welcome the family who will call it home.

Habitat for Humanity Regina has provided affordable homes to more than 35 families in Regina since 1993. Under the leadership and direction of a new Board and management, Habitat for Humanity Regina has adopted an impressive goal to build six homes annually.
