Families must apply to be Habitat homeowners. Habitat Regina accepts applications once per year. You must attend an information session to apply.

We have completed our Homeownership Information Sessions until Fall 2020. If you would like to be notified when these sessions are scheduled, contact us to add your name to our Homeownership Information Session contact list.

Volunteer Hours

If chosen, families are required to contribute 500 volunteer hours towards building their homes. These volunteer hours will be completed at the build site, in the ReStore and in the community.

Habitat homeowners purchase their homes with zero downpayment. They pay an interest free mortgage set at 25% of their gross household income.

To foster success, Habitat's corporate and community partners teach 12 classes that cover such topics as:

  • understanding mortgages, taxes, and home insurance
  • becoming a Habitat homeowner
  • home maintenance and safety

These classes also allow families to meet their future neighbours and to build community.

Contact our family services team if you have any questions or if you would like to be contacted once our information sessions resume.
